I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...

I'm an AK fan because her music and her example remind me that I can do more, I can be more, and I can love more. Anytime I feel down and out, like I'm dying inside, like my world is crashing in on me, I think of Keep a Child Alive and all of the women and children who would love to live one day with my problems. When I feel ugly, I think of "Superwoman" and AK's words remind me that I am not. When I feel depressed and uninspired, "Sure Looks Good to Me" is the song I need. When my heart is broken...c'mon, I know you know which song I need to hear! And when I feel selfish or ungrateful, "Doesn't Mean Anything" can put me in a better space. Basically, discovering Alicia's music has changed me as a person and I depend on it just as I do air. I don't always know how to navigate through this crazy, chaotic, painful, beautiful, scary, lovely world we live in, and I don't always know the right things to say, but I do know what words I need to hear to thrive on this Earth one day at a time. <3 Much love to AK <3
