Over and above what's written above, I loved the way it's been written. If this has been actually written by you (and not by some freelance writer hired by Sony Music to maintain your blog), then there's definitely a writer in you. I liked the choice of words like "...my first nibble of Puppy Love..." (though P and L shouldn't be in capitals), "...pushed melodies up from the belly of the piano". Of course, the story is very sweet. Makes you smile. I guess I'd call you Lady Leonardo da Vinci, or simply, Lady da Vinci. Is there something you can't do?
I'm an Indian, currently working in NYC for 3 months. This is the first time in my life that I crossed the Atlantic. So the US and NYC are completely new to me. I believe, one remembers places by their sights and sounds and smells. Likewise, when I return to India, my memories of NYC would comprise of your song "New York (Empire State of Mind)", which was one of the first songs to fall on my ears when I was driving from Newark airport to my apartment in Manhattan.
As luck would have it, I kept hearing snatches of this incredible song of yours on radio, in cafes etc, basically wherever I went in Manhattan. There was something magical in the song that made it stick in my head. But I could never catch the name of the singer. Pardon my ignorance and please don't take it as a reflection on your popularity in any way whatsoever, but I hadn't heard of you till now. I'm a hardcore Indian Classical music fan and play the 'tabla' a bit. I'm just not into western music. So it's only today that I Googled and YouTubed the words "New York song" and hit upon the links that have you performing this song. You won't believe, I saw and heard this song 15 times in the last 3 hours.
To be honest, I don't like the rap bit by Jay-Z. But when your vocals kick in, it's like a jet plane taking off. You elevate the song to astounding heights. It gives me goosebumps. The lyrics "...streets will make you feel brand new...big lights will inspire you...", are so true. I can so relate to them. But more than the lyrics, I fell for the musical composition and your voice. Your voice has such an amazing range, it's not funny. Together, they do full justice to the subject as phenomenal as New York. Even if one doesn't know anything about NYC, listening to your song gets one a tremendous first impression. May be Bloomberg should make it the NYC anthem.
I was going through your blog. If all that writing is posted by you indeed, hats off to your genius, perseverance and spirituality. Not to mention your dazzling good looks. Your fiance is a helluva lucky guy. Bless you both!

I know you have written a book of poems and lyrics because I own it. Reading these blog entries makes me want to ask that you write down these beautiful expriences and discoveries of your life. Share with us more of the loving and awakening experiences of your life. God has given you soooo many gifts. Bless us with each and every one. Love You !!!!
This is one of the cutest holiday stories I have ever heard....for Christmas I wanted to give my cousin the most perfect gift, because we are so close. I had sewed a pair of mittens for her, and my perfect idea became a disaster. The mittens looked like tornadoes of fabric held together by weak and tiny string. I gave it to her and she said it was the best gift she was ever given..
