OMG Alicia I cannot put into words the anticipation around this concert. I have been a fan of yours prior to your first concert in Toronto at Massey Hall. I've been to every Toronto concert you've had, the last one being June 2007. This upcoming concert is very special to me because the last time you were here I wasn't fully present for the whole concert the way I would've like to have been.
I am a grateful recovering addict, and on January 11, 2009 I celebrated one year of sobriety in a twelve step fellow ship. I was able to remain clean thanks to this fellowship. However during my active addiction your album, As I am was monumental in giving me hope. I listened to Lesson Learned repeatedly during that time this song truly planted a seed in my mind that one day I would be "alright/okay". That song helped me move from the darkness into the light. Reminding me that "it's called the past cause I'm gettin past and I ain't nothin like I was before".
I was desperately hoping you would've sang Lesson Learned at your June 2007 show, but you did not. When I decided to surrender and live a life in recovery I vowed to play Lesson Learned at my one year medallion. I did just that & everyone was brought to tears.
I will be on the floor this time in row 22 (the closest seats I've had yet) fully present and hoping that you will sing Lesson Learned. It would be the most remarkable gift for me to hear you sing it live. That song brought me back to life and for that I will remain eternally grateful! I have come to experience the element of FREEDOM :)
I am so excited about Alecia coming here it would be me and my daughter's dream to see her perform but unfortunately is not able to due to circumstances beyond my control. Alecia we love you have fun and be safe.
The concert in Detroit MI on the 6th was AWESOME!!!!!
I"m writing to thank you, 4 the request, that I made on a previous post, (the special dedication part was a little far fetched I know A guy has 2 try rt ?
All things are in DEVINE order. Thank YOU 4 being in that order.
Absolutely Amazing! We love you Alicia Keys! Toronto loves you and you were simply magnificent! Come back soon! Much love! Your fan, Jessica B. <3 <3 <3
What an amazing concert!! And I can't believe I actually got to meet her! Like I predicted, I was speechless. haha When she was signing her book, I knew I should take the opportunity to say something but I totally choked up! I felt like such an idiot. I think the only thing I could manage was I love your shoes. haha Oh well, at least now I can say I got the chance to meet my most influential role model! She is so beautiful, body and soul! <3
Alicia, Alicia, the most beautiful, more so than any angel, Alicia, a god send Alicia, as pure as water, and as bright as light, and as heavenly as the father
your spirit it brings light to night, joy to sorrow, and today to tommorrow,-- for one day hopefully soon, not far away, I shall see my Alicia, my Magdalena, my morning, noon, and afternoon, my Queen, but until then I shall wait for you, sweet dreams, child.
My sister and I would love to go to your concert but can't afford tickets
We love your music and we hope we get lucky and win the tickets, it would be an amazing experience and a dream come true. We are keeping our fingers crossed!!!
The lord has smiled on me and has given me the wonderful chance and honor to meet Miss Alicia Keys! I can not stop smiling. Thank you so much for ak.vip staff for this wonderful chance it has trully made me smile all day...5 days and counting
Alicia, you were AMAZING. You are beautiful, unique, and a wonderful live performer. Every single person in the audience sang every single word of every single song Enjoy the rest of your tour. Toronto loves you!
I was really looking forward to this evening. The two opening acts were far to loud - brutal in fact.It was a constant battle for the singers to scream instead of sing in order to overpower the band - not very enjoyable. We traveled to Toronto to see Alicia - she came on state at approx. 9:15 and left the stage after her final number at approx. 10:45 - very surprised. I feel the real hard core Alicia fans were short changed. Suggestion in future - for a 7:30 start time - maybe have 1 opening act or none - have Alicia come on stage at approx. 8 and finish at approx. 10:30. The one big problem with these big venues is exactly what happened last evening - 7:30 start time on ticket - artist you go to see comes on stage at 9:15.
Toronto - I Was at the concert last night.
Alicia you are an amazing artist with real raw umcompromised talent.
Your show was beautiful, thoughtful and of couse inspiring!
It was wonderful to see your performance upstage the 'show'.... you don't need props or a set ... we could clearly feel your love for music and your mission to help people reach their dreams.
Alicia did not disapoint, the show was amazing. She reminded us of her amazing ability to create and wow you with her music. Alicia is the true meaning of what an artist should be and she stays true to her craft.
I had the pleasure and honor of meeting her and she was one of the most beutiful persons I have ever met. Her spirit was amazing and she made you realize she is just like us however she has an ability to bring us to a place we didn't know existed.
I woke up this morning feeling thankful for health and strength, inspired, limitless, phenominal, even sexy! Things I wouldn't think a concert could make you feel, but I did and for that I am forever thankful Miss Alicia Keys.
Big thanks to AK VIP you really made me feel like a VIP!
Alicia blew the roof off of the ACC on Wednesday! What a spectacular performance. I was at her 2008 concert in Toronto, and while that was also fantastic, this concert really showed her growth as a performer in the last two years. With the big screen backdrops, the dramatic dance routines, the inclusion of more props (i.e: the cage at the beginning) it was just a roller coaster ride! Alicia, Toronto loves you and is EAGER to have you back again very soon! =D
I've never been a concert quite like this! I was so overwhelmed and excited to see her perform for the first time! She was gorgeous and I was thrilled to see her talent LIVE. I was also amazed by the mixed crowd from young to older couples. At her show, I saw how soulful and true to herself she was. I'm also a very positive person and I truly admire her positivity. I liked how she used one of Martin Luther King Jr's quote 'Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness'. so true...I belive she follows this quote. All in all, it was an awesome performance. She sang and played her instruments to her best!!!
I was there. It was an incredible show. Alicia is such a great artist. I really liked the concept of the show. I will always feel emotion when I hear "No One".
