The Thing About Love

This was the first song that Linda Perry and I worked on together. It really amazed me how fluid the process was because it's often difficult for me to collaborate with people that I haven't known for years. But she made it extremely comfortable and easy and inspiring. At that time, she really showed me how to express my true inner voice with no hesitation. And so this song that really describes every side of love in every way, that effects everyone in the world was such a release for me. And also, it was a statement in bravery. I always wanted to do part of a song that the tempo totally changed and this song gave me my chance. And it is my favorite part of the song.
