Kasseem "Swizz Beatz" Dean , 31 and Alicia Keys, 29 were married on July 31, 2010.
The wedding was held on a perfect summer day in a private home on the Mediterranean Sea. Close friends and family surrounded the happy couple, as friend Dr. Deepak Chopra presided over the intimate ceremony.
The bride wore a stunning Grecian-inspired Vera Wang dress and carried a gorgeous bouquet of purple calla lilies. The groom donned a classic Tom Ford tuxedo.
The two are expecting their first child later this year.
In late 2009, the 12 time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys released her fourth studio album, The Element of Freedom, which continued her successful track record, selling 417,000 copies in its first week, hitting the platinum sales mark in one month and spawning the #1 single, "Unthinkable." "Unthinkable" continues to remain at the top of the Billboard R&B / Hip Hop chart after 28 weeks.
Keys is the co-founder of Keep a Child Alive (KCA), a non-profit organization dedicated to providing life-saving, anti-retroviral treatment and resources to children and their families with HIV/AIDS in Africa and most recently, India. For the last Seven years Alicia and KCA have hosted the Black Ball, a unique benefit concert which has brought together musical talent to raise money for the much needed treatments, services and support that KCA provides. The Black Ball will be held on September 30th, 2010 in New York City.
Grammy Award winning producer Kasseem "Swizz Beatz" Dean has been the creative force of a massive catalog of records that have collectively sold more than 100 million copies.
Currently Swizz is in the studio working on his 3rd album. The yet to be titled solo album, will feature a myriad of A-List talent including Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Coldplay, John Legend, Drake and TI, to name a few. The album will hit stores this fall.
In addition to his role as a super producer, Swizz, who is also an ambassador of Keep a Child Alive, has recently taken his love of art back to his birthplace of the South Bronx with the adoption of the Bronx Charter School for the Arts. -
