Yes, I agree with the person who said this album is more raw. I can still hear the Alicia Keys of today in some of the music and the lyrics, so of course it is great. I still am more into todays, ELEMENT OF FREEDOM, album. To each his own. Still I love some of the songs on this album like TROUBLES, GOODBYE, A WOMAN'S WORTH, BUTTERFLYZ, of course FALLIN, and a few more songs. It's hard to believe you wrote these beautiful songs and made the album when you were so young. You are an exceptional talent and continue to only get better. Love the music! I wish you peace and love and more great albums. LOL

this album was the first i listened to entirely. all the songs was penetrating myself, along my blood. i used to listen to it when i was feeling sad. my prefered song in this album is "why do i feel so sad".

i love this cd all the songs on it speak to me so much in so many different ways i only liked alicia but then when i seen her live in concert on my 18th birthday i instantly loved her when she did diary i fell in love.so this is deff my fav cd ever
Songs in A Minor ah the memories!! This was the first cd I had ever bought and it was with my birthday money as a kid thats a very big deal to spend it well for me anyway lol! I am so glad I bought something that I will cherish for the rest of my life<-------did you catch that was a title of a song on the album?? Haha sorry that was random but anyway I had first heard "Fallin" during the summer of the album release while I was playing the piano (what are the odds of that ) I had to stop and I was just amazed at what I was hearing. I turned on the tv to one of my favorite music video channels and there it was the video. I was so excited to see it not only someone who looked like me but a person doing what I wanted to do for the rest of my life which is be a musician just like Alicia Keys. My name AKeysButterfly was inspired by a song I hold so close which is Butterflyz. Every song has a place in our hearts because they speak to us.Seeing and hearing about all of the hard work Alicia had to put into this album and her career in the beginning keeps me motivated and I will never give up on my dream. Thanks again Alicia!!
The song.. "Caged Bird"... the first time I heard it.. brought me to tears...I was laying in my bed in my dorm room when i woke up to this song.. this song to this day still sends chills over me and is one of my favorite songs to sing.. this song represents who I am... I loved this cd because it showed alicia raw and uncut... she showed us that this girl was hear to take her place and be around for a very long while... I love this cd and as scratched as it looks. it still plays very well

I have written some song/poems I had recorded but you are the Creme de la Creme. With all your CD's, they essentially like you, are creme, rising to the top! I love Alicia Keys. I wish I could pen an acceptable song for you. May you have continued success in your singing life and may you continue and get even more film and television appearances!

Songs in A minor,I would say is my fave album.This is the album that made me fall in love with Alicia Keys! Every song is great and this album is timeless! I still listen to this cd and still love every song.I could really relate to this album.I still can remember sitting in my bathtub listening and singing this whole album Lol.. Its just that great!! Love it!!
I must say i have supported Alicia Keys career from the very beginning and even went to her concerts in montreal quebec in June 2002 and june 2008. And both times my sister an myself were so amazed by how talented she is on piano and singing.
