I completely agree. I think many of us have been through hardships and disappointments and several of us may want to blame someone for those hardships and disappointments. I for one believe that we should forgive but never forget. To live in the past sometimes can mean living in our hell.

I finally got a chance to finish the first half of the book. I feel Shay's struggles to make it. I was a graduate student the constant pressure to do well can be overwhelming. While reading the book I almost wanted to yell at her and say to her snap out of it finish school and forget the past. I wanted her to forgive her mom.

I too saw the picture in the New York post and was appauled as a human being and as a black woman. I wonder what was going through anyones head at the New York post to pring something so degrading. I hope after the scrutiny the New York post has gotten it will allow others to think about the situation and for the same mistake not to be made in the future.
